When you stuck in a bad experience it will hard for you to be happy. Or, is it? For most people, happiness is the result of positive experiences.

But the reality is, happiness is not mainly dependent on your daily experience. This means that you can be happy regardless of your experience.

It is not about how good or bad your experiences, it is how you interpret them. Happiness is simply the result of one’s cognitive assessment of any given situation.

Majority of people are trapped in this misconception. As a result, their daily emotions are affected by their experience.

In order to be happy every day, you have to learn how to isolate your experience from your emotion.

What I mean by this is that you should be able to control your feelings by modifying your thinking pattern.

Do not allow your negative experience to sabotage your well-being. Guard your mind.

In a modest sense, happiness is a matter of choice. You always have the chance to feel good no matter what.

Here’s how to be happy everyday in any given situation.

1. Laugh at your mistakes

Most people forget how to be happy every day. Why? Because they mainly focus on their negative experience. If you really want to be happy, accept your failure. You can’t redo what has been done. And you can’t fix it. So why not learn from your failures and laugh?

Forget the failure and reap the lesson. We all experience failures. But those who are able to quickly detach themselves from their negative experience and learn from it will most likely win in life.

2. Don’t miss the morning sun

Scientific studies found that morning sun exposure boosts happiness. And the lack of morning light exposure is associated with depression. The reason being is that you can get vitamin D from the morning sun. This vitamin is found to be beneficial to well-being – it increases happiness.

3. Get enough sleep

Sleep deprivation not only dwindles happiness but also motivation. People who usually get fewer hours of sleep are often less optimistic. The worst fact is that sleep-deprived individuals have higher levels of depression than their counterparts.

4. Take a deep breath

When you feel bad, just pause for a moment and take a deep breath. Filling your lungs and brain with enough amount of oxygen could help you feel better.

5. Be physically active

When it comes to physical activity, most people would always think that it solely pertains to exercise in a gym. In reality, it is not. There are many ways you can remain physically active without going to the gym. An ordinary walk or a jog every morning is enough to bust the stress. Hundreds of studies had proven the benefits of doing simple physical activities.

6. Know what really makes you happy

In most cases in our lives, we do things which we don’t want to do. In fact, many people go to work they hate every day. Being in that situation, it is incredibly hard to draw a smile on your face. You feel like you are imprisoned in a place you hate to be in.

But believe it or not, there is always a room for happiness. What you need to do is find something that really makes you feel good. It could be a simple hobby. Studies had shown that doing irrelevant things could switch on positive feeling.

7. Forgive

Forgiveness is one of the best keys to happiness. People who keep grudges inside are more likely to be trapped in loneliness. Learn to forgive and forget. This may be easier to be said but harder to do. But one of the answers on the question “how to be happy every day,” is forgiveness.
