The secret in achieving personal growth.
The world is full of talented and skilled people. Most of them are smart, creative, physically fit and attractive. You might be wondering why you are not like them.
If this is your case, you better stop paying attention to others. Instead, start to develop your own identity and personal growth. You can be somebody above everybody. You only need one thing – consistency.
The world doesn’t care who you are, where you came from, or where you are going. It only waits for you at the finish line. But it may not be easy. Life will beat you to your knees.
Your greatest job is to commit yourself to everything you do. Commitment allows you to keep going even in hopeless moments of your life.
People who achieved personal growth have one thing in common. They are capable of persevering even in times when winning is next to impossible. Will Smith, a Hollywood successful actor shares his secrets behind his success:
“The only thing that I see that us distinctly different about me is I’m not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be out-worked, period. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, you might be sexier than me, you might be all of those things. But if we get on the treadmill together, there’s two things: You’re getting off first, or I’m going to die.”
If consistency is the key to personal growth, then why so many people aren’t successful? Don’t they know the formula? Of course, they do. The only problem is that they are not willing to sacrifice to do the work.
But even those who try, only a few of them are consistent. This is the reason why there’s only one percent of the population successful. “Success comes through sustained effort. (The key word in that sentence is not ‘effort.’ It’s ‘sustained.’)” – Todd Brison
Either in school or in real life, consistency is a key. Consistent students are more likely to achieve academic success than those aren’t consistent.
In business, consistency is also vital. Those who are constantly hustling succeed fast than their counterparts. People who often get left behind are those who are not committed to their craft.
Consistency makes you grow
Personal growth can be elusive. It requires a lot of hard work, focus, and dedication. But you can always attain it if you just decide to become a self-fulfilled person.
Do not rely so much on your talent and genius. They are not reliable all the time. Or, do not be discouraged if you are not a genius or talented. You can always decide to be one.
“Don’t coast on talent alone. Let it remind you of the responsibility you have to honor your gift. And if you’re not that good, well here’s the good news: you can get better.” – Jeff Goins
Like anything, personal growth is something that you can develop. Consistency helps you achieve it. Throw all your doubts and laziness. Do the work towards your own goal.
Most people who quit don’t realize that success does not happen explosively. It takes sweat, blood, patience, humility, and commitment over time.
“Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill
So if you aim for personal growth, you have to pay its price. You have to knock the door of your dream many times without quitting. Many people just knock once and leave. If you really want to succeed, if you really want to achieve personal growth, please hang on. You are too close. Closer than you think!
