The trick that I’m talking about is a particular song. A song that reduces anxiety up to 65 percent when you listen to it. This song is called “Weightless”, by Marconi Union.
Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson of Mindlab International has conducted a research to investigate songs that can make people relax.
The participants of the study were instructed to solve puzzles. The purpose of the task was to induce a certain level of stress. While doing the task, the participants were also listening to different songs as the researchers measured their physiological states such as heartbeat blood pressure, and breathing.
The finding suggests that listening to one song “Weightless” reduces anxiety by 65 percent.
The song “Weightless” was deliberately created by Marconi Union with the collaborative effort of several sound therapists. The harmony, rhythms, and bass were carefully calibrated to make the listeners relaxed.
The previous study is an evidence that music is a great help to human’s health. This may be the reason why, throughout history, our ancestors were music lovers. Music made them happy and healthy.
The finding is also a good indication that we can be relaxed without doing anything. By listening to this kind of music, we can achieve an anxiety and stress-free mind.
The song “weightless” is so powerful that Dr. David Lewis-Hodgson has one caution:
“‘Weightless’ was so effective, many women became drowsy and I would advise against driving while listening to the song because it could be dangerous.”
