The list of supplements that boost memory.
As we age, our body undergoes changes. And part of that changes is the decreased in physical and psychological capabilities.
The most common condition among older adults is memory loss. In response, pharmacological companies focused on finding a solution to this problem.
As a result, supplements are flooding in the market.
The only question is, do memory supplements help boost memory?
Fortunately, many studies found promising results. For instance, a recent study found that Omega-3 fatty acids help fight against memory loss.
The first author of the study, Dr. Daniel Amen explained the result. “This is very important research because it shows a correlation between lover omega-3 fatty acid levels and reduced brain blood flow to regions important for learning, memory, depression, and dementia,” said Amen.
Along with omega-3, there are many supplements that boost memory. However, most of them are lacking scientific evidence.
But there are few that found to be effective although need further research. Below are some of the useful supplements.

1. Huperzine A.
This supplement is also known as Chinese club moss. This medicine is helpful in treating Alzheimer’s Disease.
Huperzine-A is a compound extracted from Huperziceae family. It tends to boost a neurotransmitter acetylcholine by stopping the enzyme from breaking down.
Acetylcholine is responsible for learning.
This amino acid is also found to be helpful in reducing the Alzheimer’s disease. It helps the body to produce energy. But it is generally helpful in boosting memory.
The list of supplements that boost memory does not stop here. There are many supplements available in the market. The reason I don’t include them in this post is that they lack supporting studies.
But before taking any supplement, it is important to consult your doctor first. Even though these supplements have passed specific clearances, we don’t know for sure what could possibly happen.
In my case, for instance, I have a heart condition called Myocardial Infarction (MI). So medication (including supplements) should be through a doctor’s prescription.
